Meizu has expanded its Note lineup with the launch of M2 Note at an event in Beijing, China. The M2 Note comes with few upgraded specifications over its predecessor. The Meizu M2 Note offers more decent set of specs than the M1 Note.
While, Asus has recently released the ZenFone Selfie at the Computex 2015. The ZenFone Selfie is a camera-centric smartphone for selfie lovers.
Here is a comparison of budget camera smartphones: Meizu M2 Note, Asus ZenFone Selfie and Moto G (2nd Gen)
The Meizu M2 Note has a slightly bigger screen-to-body ratio than other compared smartphone. M2 Note sports a 5.5 inch full HD display covering up to 72.8 percent of front panel, with 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution at 403 ppi density. The display features a sharp IGZO technology along with multitouch and TBC protection.
The second generation of Moto G comes with 5 inch display covering 68.9 percent screen-to-body ratio with 1280 x 720 pixels resolution counting at 294 ppi density. Its display features IPS, multitouch and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection.
While the Asus ZenFone Selfie also sports a 5.5 inch IPS display with 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution at 403 ppi pixel density. The Zenfone Selfie display comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection along with oleophobic coating.
Processor and RAM
When it comes to the performance of the smartphone, processor is one of the important aspects to be considered. Meizu M2 Note is powered by a 1.3 GHz Octa Core Cortex-A53 processor with Mediatek MT6753 SoC along with Mail-T720MP3. The m2 note is paired with 2GB of RAM.
Moto G2 is powered by a Qualcomm MSM8226 Snapdragon 400 chipset running a quad-core 1.2GHz Cotex A7 processor along with Andreno 305 GPU and paired with 1GB of RAM. The Asus Zenfone Selfie is powered by a octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor with Adreno 405 GPU besides 2GB/3GB LPDDR3 RAM under the hood.
All three smartphones run on Android platform. The Meizu M2 Note is running on the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop OS with Flyme 4.5 user interface on top. The Asus ZenFone Selfie also runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system along with Asus Zen user interface. While, Moto G2 is shipped with an earlier version of Android 4.4.4 KitKat OS and can be upgradable to Android 5.0 Lollipop.
Meizu has come up with a mixed textures for its M2 Note. The smartphone comes with a matte finish around the frames while the back panel retains a glossy polycarbonate finish as its predecessor. Even with bigger screen size, the smartphone is comfortable to hold. M2 Note measures 150.9mm x 75.2mm x 8.7mm and weights 149grams. The phone is available in gray, white, blue and pink color options.
The Moto G2 is designed with curvy edges which fits comfortably in hands. The phone also features a water resistant coating. The G2 is slightly bigger than its predecessor, and it is almost made out of plastic. The phone measures 141.5mm x 70.7mm x 11mm and weights 149 grams and is available in white and black colors.
Asus has its own design elements that reflects the spirit of Zen with concentric-circle detailing and elegant eggshell finish. The ZenFone Selfie is almost identical to the company's most recent flagship smartphone, the ZenFone 2. While the phone measures 156.5mm x 77.2mm x10.8mm and weights around 170 grams. The ZenFone Selfie is available in pure white, chic pink and aqua blue color options.
The Meizu M2 Note houses a 13 megapixel primary camera with dual-LED flash and autofocus feature. The smartphone captures images at 4208 x 3120 pixels resolution and records HD 1080p videos. The M2 Note also comes with 5 megapixel fornt-facing camera.
Moto G2 comes with an 8 megapixel autofocus rear camera with LED flash and a 2 megapixel front-facing camera. The camera captures images at 3264 x 2448 pixels resolution and 720p video recording along with stereo sound.
On the other hand, as the name suggest, Asus ZenFone Selfie is a camera centric smartphone, focused on taking selfie and features a laser auto-focus option for the rear camera to capture images faster and better even in low-lighting conditions. It sports a 13 megapixel on both front and rear camera capturing images at 4128 x 3096 pixels and records full HD videos.
The M2 Note comes equipped with 16GB /32GB of internal memory, with an expansion of up to 128GB via microSD card slot, while the Asus ZenFone Selfie also come with 16GB /32GB of built-in storage space and can be expanded up to 64GB of space.
The Moto G2 comes with 16GB of internal storage and can expand the storage up to 32 GB using microsSD card.
It is not an easy task to decide the best smartphone compared, as all three handsets have their own strengths to be on top. For Meizu the design, screen and the storage space of the smartphone makes a better options. While the Moto G2 comes with better features and software. On the other hand, Asus ZenFone Selfie is a camera centric smartphone which is specially designed for selfie lovers.
Price is another factor to consider, Meizu M2 Note is not yet available in India, but the 16GB model cost CNY 799 in China which roughly translates to Rs. 8,250 and the 32GB is expected to be priced at Rs.10,300. While, the Moto G2 with is available in India at Rs. 10,999. On the other hand, Asus has not mentioned the price and availability for ZenFone Selfie.
