A gaming player, Mojang has come up with a Minecraft application for the iOS platform which will allow the users to place their creations in real world background. This is done with the help of AR technology which was developed by 13th labs. Minecraft Reality keeps track of the surroundings by means of the camera on iPhone, iPad or the iPod Touch. The users can then project their creations done using Minecraft, into this tracked environment.
The application has a very interesting 3D tracking feature which will allow you to move around with the camera in hand and also allow you to make changes in the dimensions and angles of your objects on the screen itself with the help of the application, while placing it in the surrounding.
The application allows you to connect with others using it by sharing the location of your placed object with others which they can observe in their respective iOS devices. Similarly, you can also view the location of others’ creations. The application already has some creations in it which can be used in case someone is new to it.
Though the application has not been around for too long people have started raising some complaints. It is not supported in iPod Touch 4G and its earlier versions and does not function fully in iPhone 4S. However, the application functions smoothly in next generation iOS devices such as iPad 3G, iPod Touch 5 and iPhone 5.
Minecraft Reality is available for download from the iTunes Store for a price of $1.99 (Rs. 112 approx.).
