The new iPod Touch has already started shipping from October 9. Apple has started sending notification to customers who have pre-ordered the device earlier. Apple released iPod Touch along with iPhone 5 last month. iPod Touch features a 5 mega pixel rear camera and a front facing camera giving users more flexibility in capturing images and for engaging in video calling. The refined metal chassis will be made available for users in more than one colour.
This is still in line with the October release which the Company had announced earlier. Sources suggest that Apple’s online store is still displaying the vague October release information without any exact shipment date. According to a statement provided for a popular technology site, Apple has confirmed that iPod Touch units will be shipped from today onwards. This information was given to GigaOm’s Kevin Tofel.
Sources suggest the delivery of new iPod Touch to happen within a week’s time or somewhere before October 15th. The device will be delivered to the door steps of users who have pre-ordered the device. But unofficial reports claim that the device will hit retail stores much before October 15th. There are rumors of fifth generation iPod Touch already available for retail purchase in an Apple Store based in Hong Kong. Apple’s online store has also hinted at 7GB iPod Nano Touch to start shipping this month. However no specific date has been given for the same.
