It seems as Finnish phone manufacturer Nokia has big plans to dent the smartphone battleground with its giant offering in days to come.
This can be said as recently Bloomberg reports suggested that at the annual Nokia World event in Helsinki, which will kick off from September 5, the company will unwrap its biggest Windows Phone 8 offering so far.
Further, they added that the handsets would be released in the market before the year-end holiday shopping season.
“ Nokia plans to announce Windows Phone 8-based handsets as early as next month at its Nokia World event -- ahead of an expected Sept. 12 unveiling of the next version of the iPhone -- and have them for sale before the year-end holiday shopping season, said a person with knowledge of the matter, asking not to be identified because the plan isn't public.,” said the report.
While, nothing else has been disclosed in the report related to the model name or specifications, however, past report in the tech media world suggested that
Nokia could announce two Windows Phone devices on September 5 that could be called the Lumia 910 and Lumia 920.
Nokia Lumia 910 was recently leaked over Nokia's RDA tool for developers and the device is rumored to sport 12 MP camera variant of Lumia 900 and is supposed to come on Verizon in US after the release of Lumia 900.
A recent leak also indicated that the first smartphone running Windows Phone 8 will be available only in November. Also according to BGR reports, Microsoft is expected to make the operating system ready for release to manufacturing in September with general availability of the devices in November.
At the same time, in July, rumors were rife that Nokia is planning to release at least five new Windows Phone handsets including Lumia 1001, Lumia 950, Lumia 910, Nokia 510 and Nokia Belle 805. The newsbreak came from the end of Nokiapoweruser reports where they suggested that the company is prepping to launch new line of Windows Phones.
Going by the past records, Nokia has always announced its flagship products at Nokia World event in the previous years. If these rumors turn out to be true, Nokia will fall into direct competition with launch timing Samsung' high awaited Galaxy Note 2 and Apple's next best iPhone 5.
