Electropen as any normal pen has a body and clip. The body is the transmitter. The cap is the receiver. Users will have to attach these clips to any paper or books. The clip will then start recording pen movements during drawing or writing by users.
Modes of use and Technology
Electropen works in mainly two modes, Online and Offline. The two technologies based on which the Electropen works include Ultrasound and Infrared.
The offline mode is especially designed for students, doctors and executives who would like to retrieve the data quickly. The pen records the movement and stores the data in the memory. It can be accessed by users at a later stage for converting in to editable text on a PC.
The online mode is an advanced mode in which users will have to attach either clip or body to the computer during writing.
Options available in online mode include;
There is also software for zooming the writing in real-time through a projector. Another interesting feature is a ‘Signature Mode’ allowing users to record signatures and saving its digital copies. This digital pen is expected to work its best with A4 letter-sized documents. The battery used is rechargeable. The maximum battery life of receiver battery is 8 hours where as battery life of pen is 30 hours.
