Sony will launch 3G tablets soon
Sony, the manufacturer of consumer electronic devices had released the company's first tablet today in India and has announced that it will launch 3G enabled tablets by the next month.
Masaru Tamagawa, the Managing Director of Sony has announced that the company is launching the tablets with Wi-Fi connectivity support today and that in the middle of January, it will launch more tablets that have both Wi-Fi and 3G support. The company is expecting to gain 80% of the sales made in this financial year from the sales of the 3G tablets.
The Wi-Fi tablets S and P models were launched today at a starting price range of Rs.29,990. The company is in serious talks with some of the operators to pack the 3G tablets with their services.
The Sony P tablet will have the 3G facility and it will be the first one with dual screen feature and it can be folded. Both the screens can be used either for the same function or for two different purposes. The price of this tablet will be Rs. 36,990.
The company is planning to invest over Rs. 10 crore in the promotion of the tablets in the financial year's last quarter. These tablets will have the compatibility to DLNA that will allow the users to connect the tablet with the other DLNA devices.
With this DLNA feature they can watch movies that are in the tablet on any other DLNA compatible television or even listen music with speakers that have DLNA support. Both these tablets are expected to be available in the India from the next month all across the country.
