Sub-Rs 10,000 Smartphones Contributing 75 pc of Sales: Lenovo
Chinese tech major Lenovo today said almost three-fourth of its smartphone sales is coming from devices priced below Rs 10,000. The company offers smartphones priced in the range of Rs 4,000 to Rs 30,000.
"The industry itself sees about 75 per cent of the sales coming from smartphones priced under Rs 10,000 and we have more or less a similar split," Lenovo India Director Smartphones Sudhin Mathur told PTI.

The company started as a premium player but now have devices across entry, mid and premium segments, he added.
In October-December 2014 quarter, Korean giant Samsung maintained its leadership in India with 22 per cent market share, followed by homegrown vendors, Micromax (18 per cent), Intex (8 per cent) and Lava (7 per cent) and Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi with 4 per cent share, according to research firm IDC.

Lenovo today launched A7000 smartphone in India, featuring Dolby Atmos audio technology, priced at Rs 8,999. The 4G-enabled handset will be available on Flipkart.
Mathur said about company sold about 300,000 units of A6000, predecessor to A7000, in the last two months.
The A7000 sports 1.5GHz octa-core processor, 2GB RAM, 5.5-inch display, Android Lollipop operating system, 8MP rear and 5MP front camera and 2,900 mAh battery.
