Twitter is bringing in a new feature allowing users to share tweets directly from the micro-blogging site by email. Twitter stated officially in a blog post “You can email a Tweet to anyone whether they use Twitter or not, right from your Twitter stream or from the details view of any tweet.” Users will have to tap the ‘More’ icon next to the replay, retweet and favourite buttons for emailing the tweet. As per the blog, users can also add their own comments along with the Tweet in the email.
This is part of Twitter’s recent efforts to make the platform more user friendly like Facebook. However, many users claim that this is not something new to them. They were already emailing the tweets with the help of third-party Twitter apps. Analysts also commented that this new Twitter feature is quite similar to that of TweetDeck and Hootsuite.
The new feature is also a response to one of the long standing request from users to interact with other users who are not yet in Twitter including Parents and other college roommates and share tweets with them too. This could work in favour of Twitter as a promotional tool too thus bringing in more people to Twitter.
Twitter recently introduced many other features like Instagram-like Photo Filters, an updated TweetDeck and Newsletter too. Sources close to Twitter have also hinted at the possibility of them coming with a tool that will let the users download older tweets.
Twitter's new feature will be rolling out to all the users globally in the coming weeks which ill allow avail users to email a tweet to anyone, whether they use Twitter or not, right from your Twitter stream or from the details view of any posting.
How the new feature will work? When available, users will just need to click on the “More” icon next to the reply, retweet and favorite buttons in order to email a tweet to anyone.
