Twitter has replaced its ‘Discover' tab with ‘Tailor Trends'. The company has killed the Discover tab from its iOS and Android devices, meaning you'll no longer see activities based on the people you follow.

Twitter says the update helps to simplify content exploration on Twitter's mobile apps, putting relevant topics closer to users' purviews.

Since trends tend to be abbreviations without context, like #NYFW, a description will make it clear that this trend is about New York Fashion Week. The new trends experience may also include how many Tweets have been sent and whether a topic is trending up or down," adds the Twitter blog post

The new trends with descriptions experience is rolling out now in the U.S. There are no words on similar updates on the Web, notes The Next Web. However, the company says that they are experimenting with similar features on web and look forward to expanding this experience to more countries in the near future.

Earlier this week, Twitter's stock price rose nearly 4% Tuesday on rumors that Google might acquire the company. Twitter, a popular microblogging platform and social network is reportedly hiring advisers like Goldman Sachs to deal with interest from potential investors.
