Voice over IP App Viber Reaches 40 Million Registered User in India

Viber, an instant messaging and Voice over IP (VoIP) app for smartphones developed by Viber Media, announced today that the app has crossed more than 40 million registered users in India.

Viber started its operations in India in December 2013 at a time when there were 13 million users of the application in India.

Viber has over 516 million unique users in 193 countries and is constantly innovating by introducing new platforms and adding new features to delight its users.

Viber has added multiple features which includes, Viber Public Chats, a feature that allows users to discover, share and interact with conversations, communities and content on mobile. There are more than 50 Public Chats in India across various genres like fashion, beauty, travel, sports, entertainment etc.

Additionally, Stickers are a core part of Viber's personality and millions of people worldwide use them in conversations every day to express an emotion, a reaction, a statement or simply to share good vibes with their friends and families.
