Windows Phone 7.8 Features Disclosed by Microsoft Italy, November End Release on Cards

Reports are rife that Microsoft Italy has released details regarding the key features of Windows Phone 7.8 on the company’s Facebook page. It has been confirmed that Windows Phone 7.8 OS will implement of a new home screen in the yet to be released Windows devices.

More number of tiles is also expected to be made available on the home screen. The larger tiles are expected to be configurable as per the sources. Users can have interesting customizations with the new upgraded operating system. 

A Facebook post by Microsoft Italy has informed that Windows Phone 7.8 will be available for users using Windows Phone 7.0 and Windows Phone 7.5 operating systems, sometime around November end, shortly after the marketing campaign of Windows Phone 8 operating system. 

The new features to be included with Windows Phone 7.8 include: 

A newly designed refreshing start screen

Club functionality for sharing the calendar

Uninterrupted access to relevant content and services from Microsoft such as Xbox Music Store Library which the users can enjoy through Zune and Xbox Smart Glass 

These details were posted as a quote in response to a question that was posed to the Microsoft Facebook Page. The quote was quickly removed. The Club functionality is the one which is similar to the ‘Rooms’ functionality present in Windows Phone 8. It remains to be seen how soon Microsoft will announce the availability of the next big update for the legacy hardware. 

Users can expect a useful upgrade by Microsoft for the devices running on the Windows Phone platform if the above mentioned features are anything to go by. This will make users purchase Windows Phone 7.8 handsets with much confidence especially taking in to consideration its user-friendly features. Microsoft has not commented so far on this latest leaked information from Microsoft Italy.
