China's mobile maker who has created waves in the Indian market since its inception last year is all set to surge the market in 2015 as well. Recently, the company has released a new feature-packed smartphone in the market -- the Xiaomi Mi4 -- to grab a big bite in the mid-range smartphone market.
Priced at Rs 19,999, the Xiaomi Mi4 has got everything from a 5-inch IPS display to 2.5 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processors and Adreno 330 GPU, 3GB RAM, Li-Ion 3,080mAh battery and MIUI 6. However, the handset is being criticized for its 16GB internal memory and non-inclusion of 4G LTE, whereas a 64GB version is available in the international market.
While, Hugo Barra confirmed in a press event today - held in Bangalore, that a 4G LTE variant of Xiaomi MI4 will not be possible, however, he did reveal that the 64GB variant of the handset will be made available in India tentatively by March 2015. But at the same time, Hugo did affirm that India citing regulations and clearing a few certifications in India might delay the possibilities.
At the same time, Manu Jain, head of Xiaomi in India also confirmed that since the advent of Xiaomi MI4 registration, the company has already got more than 200,000 pre-orders on FlipKart. Out of which Xiaomi will be able to supply 25,000 to 30,000 units in the first go.
