Xiaomi Reportedly Making Laptop In Collaboration With Inventec, To Ship Laptop Early 2016
Xiaomi is one such company that has been on favourite list of the rumour mills ever since it inception in 2010. The rumour mills had not only restricted the leaks of Xiaomi products to smartphones, instead they had taken it to multi dimensions by talking of a Xiaomi made laptop and a smart car being built in collaboration with an automobile company.
While the render of the leaked laptop had turned out to be false, there's no word on the authenticity of the smart car - which according to our believe is false.

However a latest revelation coming from official quarters confirm that the Chinese OEM is indeed on its path of building their own laptop. But unlike popular belief Xiaomi won't be manufacturing their laptop on their own, solely because of the fact that they lack the R&D skill for a making notebooks.
Hence they have collaborated with Inventec, a Taiwanese based R&D company with long history of making consumer electronics especially notebooks.
Speaking of the partnership Richard Lee, Chairman of Inventec Corp. told Taipei Times "I am upbeat about the business outlook for Xiaomi's notebook computers, as the firm has more than 200 million registered smartphone users"
"I am not sure if the smartphone approach will be applicable to notebooks, but I expect Xiaomi's entry into the notebook industry to bring something new to the market," Lee added.
The best news however is the fact that the Xiaomi laptop will be arriving in the market soon than expected with the first units scheduled to be shipped around the first or second quarter of next year. It would be interesting to see which section of users Xiaomi will be targeting with their Notebook division.

The choice of the SoC - Intel or AMD - will be interesting to see too. Not much details about the business plans of the company for the laptop division isn't known too. Would you prefer a flash sale model or a open sale one? Analysts at Gizbot bet that Xiaomi will introduce the first one, to change the dimensions of the PC/Notebook industry.
