Google Doodle celebrates London 2012 Rhythmic Gymnastics [Video]

Since four days, Google has been demonstrating consecutive playable Doodles related to the ongoing London 2012 Olympics. On Saturday, the search engine giant has jumped to back to the bandwagon of static Doodles to celebrate the London 2012 Rhythmic Gymastics.

Rhythmic Gymnastics is only for women like Synchronized Swimming, which was celebrated by Google on August 5, 2012. London 2012 Rhythmic Gymastics Doodle depicts a gymnast dressed in yellow with her ribbon that swirls to form the O's in the official Google logo.

The sport involves individuals or teams of two or more capable of manipulating one or two pieces of apparatus such as ribbon, ball, hoop, clubs or rope. Rhythmic Gymnastics is a combination of ballet, theatrical dance, apparatus manipulation and gymnastics. It is a mixture of art and sport and cannot be classified either as pure kitsch or as sporting skill.

On each passing day of the London 2012 Olympics, Google is demonstrating exciting Doodles. This year, it started the Doodle tradition with the Opening Ceremony Doodle on July 27, 2012.
