Facebook has launched the timeline feature for the profile page sometime back. This dramatic new design of the profile page may not impress all the users and there might be some of them who love to get back the old profile page look. Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Facebook says that the Timeline is an all new way to express oneself to others.
Those users who have opted to get the new Timeline feature of Facebook and feel that they do not like it might like to get back the older look and would have not got any clues on how to get it.
The trick is actually too simple. They can access Facebook from the old versions of Microsoft Internet Explorer. Facebook is phasing out the support for the old browser versions and hence it hasn't made Timeline available for the Internet Explorer versions 6 and 7.
The experience of Facebook on the old browsers are way less than optimal. For instance, if a user makes use of an older browser version to view the old profile view it doesn't mean that the user's friends who are using the latest browsers will also view the same way. Those using the latest browsers can still view the user's profile in the Timeline fashion.
The usage of the Internet Explorer versions 6 and 7 is being dropped over the past few years but however, around 5 to 6% of the internet users are found to use them. The total users in Facebook account to 800 million and those of them using Internet Explorer among them may account to around 40 to 64 million. Even Google has announced to stop supporting the old browser versions for its famous services like YouTube and Gmail.
