Yahoo's Project Bootcamp aims to revolutionize the mail search like never before!
Have you ever tried the search bar in the top part of your mail box? I bet you have! If so the search engine of your mail may have bothered you often by not arranging the search results in a proper way. For example if you are looking for bill which amazon had set you over mail in your mail box by using the search term - ‘Amazon bill product name' you would be greeted by a barrage of search results. Instead of providing you the exact mail, the search engine would provide you with multiple mails that contain an amazon bill in the sequence starting with the newest.
Going through this long list and find the right one, would many times be tad irritating. Often you have though why this search could be a little improvised. Nevertheless it seems like Yahoo heard your concern and is now working on a project to upgrade their search engine algorithms - in fact they have a no of nifty tricks down their sleeve.

"Mail search is broken,"says Jeff Bonforte, the senior vice president for communications products at Yahoo, which runs one of the most popular free email services, said in an interview to the New York Times. He stated that Yahoo has been working on the mail search for over a year now (Project Bootcamp) and soon 225 million Yahoo users worldwide would soon see the changes appearing in their inbox. In fact Yahoo has also improvised the image search results.
New York Times quotes that, "Yahoo is also indexing the attachments and links that people include in emails. If you search for ‘photos cricket and India' - as Sriram Chatrathi, one of the leaders of the email project, likes to do - you will get a screen of photos the algorithm determines are connected to the sport, avoiding the need to go through all the emails that contain them."
"It extracts just those photos," Mr. Chatrathi said. He further add that the new search makes photos the first-class citizens.

The changes are modest so far. But officials from Yahoo claim that more updates would be coming in the following month - since Yahoo aims to revolutionize the mail search like never before!
