Here's How You Can Save Mobile Data Consumption While Using Facebook
Facebook has quietly added a new feature 'Data Saver' in the Messenger app to help users to reduce unnecessary mobile data consumption
It has been just a few weeks Facebook has rolled out its data-slim Facebook Messenger Lite along with few other tiny updates on its interface.
Today company has introduced another one, which will help Android device users save their internet usage while using Facebook Messanger. This new option called Data Saver in the settings is aimed to enable users to monitor and reduce bandwidth consumption over cellular connections by deactivating auto-downloads of photos and videos.

Having this feature enabled, Facebook Messenger won't be able to auto-download any incoming media file. The user has to click on the media file to download and open it. This way, users can ensure that they're not eating up through their monthly data unnecessarily. Facebook Messenger will also keep a track on how much data users have saved using the feature.
