In the latest news update, Android Whatsapp users can share the gif images, to other Android users. This new feature running in Beta version lets the user share a video of 6 seconds or less to a gif image.

Users can download the beta version 2.16.242 to 2.16.244. on Google Play. As per the report, the gif image support was seen on the 2.16.242 beta version of WhatsApp for Android.

Step 1: To send a gif on Whatsapp, head on to attachment icon on top. When you are done with attachment, go to record video option ana record a video of or less than 6 seconds.

Step 2: Just before sending the attachment, the usual trimming page will appear with camcorder icon on to the right corner.

Step 3: After selecting the icon, the video will be automatically converted into a gif image.

Moreover, it works on when users are attaching an existing video from another app and sharing via WhatsApp. Also, the shared gif files will be saved in WhatsApp > Media > WhatsApp Animated Gifs as mp4 files.
