Pinterest Rolling Out Secret Boards to Let You Pin in Private

Pinterest, one of the popular social media networks among the young, is testing out a new feature i.e. Secret Boards in response to a long standing need from their users on the need of a more private and secured virtual board for sharing events and pictures over Pinterest network. This fast growing social network promoted by Rakuten, Bessemer Venture Partners, Andreesen Horowitz and other investors has arguably nearly 20 million unique visitors visiting the site.

The latest feature i.e. Secret Boards, which is under testing, would allow the users to create up to three secret boards for the time being. These boards can be set up in such a way that only those uers who are invited and permitted would only be able to visit the virtual board and content placed in it. As per the company sources, there could be multiple uses of such a secret board.

The users can use them for planning group holidays and schedule work on projects with selected team members. Users can ensure that only those whom they want to view the virtual board can be invited. Any content pinned on the Secret boards will be completely insulated from public viewing and it would be strictly restricted to view by only invited users.

Pinterest is in the process of adding a lot of features on to the existing platform and pursuing an aggressive plan for the future. Investment of nearly USD 100 million by Rakuten who are known as the Japanese online giant into Pinterest has given a further boost to the growth plans envisioned by the Silicon Valley based company.
