The Chromebooks are very helpful for the students in a classroom, but to survive in a classroom and work efficiently it requires a strong body. Not every student is too careful on their things, eventually, Acer has worked on this point and has launched two new Chromebooks for the students - C910 and C740.
These Chromebooks are ideal for labs and classrooms. The C910 comes with 15.6 inch screen and the other Chromebook C740 has a 11.6 inch screen. Both these educational Chromebooks can withstand a force of 132 pounds and can handle a fall from 18 inches height. Both have reinforced hinges which won't snap easily. It's corners can withstand a 1.5 foot drop. The 11.6 inch Chromebook have some extended hinges which will make it to withstand high-stress situations like a kid's backpack.
This duo Chromebooks are offered with Intel Broadwell-based Celeron or Core i3 processors, these come with either 2GB or 4GB RAM. Pricing of these chromebooks is entirely on the screen size and storage. The C740 sports a display resolution of 1376 x 768 display with a 16GB SSD. It has a battery life of 9 hours and priced at $260. The C910 has a larger display comparing with C740 and pricing starts from $279 (Rs 12,000 approx.).
As the screen size and resolution are some what larger the battery life is slightly shorter and it's around 8 hours. By adding more price, SSD and RAM can be upgraded. These tough Chromebooks will be available from February onwards or from the next school year in US.
