Over the course of past few months more rumors have continued to emerge suggesting that Apple will release a large screen tablet to compete against the likes of Samsung and Microsoft.
While rumors and leaks have been surfacing, today Japanese site Macotakara (via CNET) is reporting that Apple's long-rumored secret tablet, the iPad Pro, will indeed be a 12.2-inch, smaller than the rumored 12.9-inch size.
iPad Pro has been in and out of news and rumor mills for months. Now, Apple's much-hyped product is once again making news for right reasons. According to the reliable Japanese site Macotakara, the iPad Pro is expected to thicker than the iPad Air 2's 6.1millimeter frame.
The blog site also said the iPad Pro would take some design cues from the iPad Air 2. It would also feature a pair of speakers and microphones on the top and bottom sides of the device.
Apple iPad Pro - The Next-Big Thing is Coming Soon
The sales of iPad have been slow over the past few months. Apple has not been able to convince users to buy updated tablet devices. Apple sold 12.31 million tablets down 7 % on the previous quarter and down 13 % on the year-ago quarter.
iPad, once a product to reckon with, has been slowly and gradually losing interest from the so-called enterprise customers. Apple's latest iPad - the iPad Air 2 may not serve the purpose of the enterprise segment.
At the same time, Apple's key rival in the high-end tablet market - Microsoft seemed to have stuck a right cord with enterprise with the acceptance of its Surface Pro 3.
Apple hasn't yet confirmed the existence of the iPad Pro. Last big rumor about the iPad Pro was heard back in September. Apple might launch its forthcoming tablet device sometime early next-year.
For now most of these details are just rumors, so we'll have to take all details with a grain of salt until Apple makes it official.
In the meanwhile, we've rounded up all the need-to-know rumors for you here:

Bloomberg recently confirmed from one of his sources that the Apple iPad Pro suppliers are already preparing to manufacture Apple's first ever large sized iPad. Moreover, the device is reportedly set to begin in the first quarter of next year.
Earlier this year, KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, apparently signaled that the device wouldn't be ready for a fall 2014 launch. He expects that the jumbo-sized iPad will require an updated operating system to take advantage of the larger display.
According to the DigiTimes report, close sources have confirmed that Apple recently tested two prototypes of the iPad Pro; one which integrates both iOS and Mac OS X, while another runs iOS just like other current iPad. Apple could be working on a "2-in-1 combo" of iOS and OS X being integrated, it seems,
Multiple sources have claimed that that Apple's upcoming iPad Pro could come in two configurations: one with a 2K screen, and the other packing a gigantic 4K resolution.
