But if you are new in this ball game, it's only normal that you will be confused about the specs and features of the tablet. What are the differences between the iPad Air 2 and iPad Air mini 3? We take a closer look.
Apple iPad Air 2 Vs iPad mini 3: Design
To be very honest, you won't find much difference when you look at both the tablets at first glance. In fact, Apple hasn't really offered many changes in terms of looks of the tablets. However, comparatively, the iPad Air 2 is not only slimmer, but it's also the thinnest at just 6.1mm. The iPad mini 3, on the other hand, is of the same size and design as the last generation. So if it's portability you are looking for, the iPad mini 3 perfectly fits the bill.
Apple iPad Air 2 Vs iPad mini 3: Display
The iPad Air 2, similar to the last iPad Air, has a 9.7-inch display with a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels. The iPad mini 3, on the other hand, offers a 7.9-inch display with a similar resolution as that of the iPad Air 2. Also, the iPad mini 3 offers more in terms of pixels per inch ratio rating with 326ppi, compared to the iPad Air 2's 264ppi.
Apple iPad Air 2 Vs iPad mini 3: Processors
In this context, taking iPad mini 3 into contention first, the tablet offers a new A8 processor. While Apple has already claimed that the new A8 is 20 pct faster than the A7, that shows off in the crispness and fluidity of the iPad mini 3. The iPad Air 2, on the other hand, has been fitted with an improvised A8X chip for better and dedicated workflow.
Apple iPad Air 2 Vs iPad mini 3: RAM Offerings
While battery has remained as one of the most haunting issues for Apple in terms of the phones and tablets it has released in the past, others have complained about the fact that how Apple is unwilling to offer more RAM support for its devices. But all that has changed. While the iPad Air 2 is equipped with 2GB of RAM, its mini counterpart still sticks on to the 1GB RAM offering.
Apple iPad Air 2 Vs iPad mini 3: Cameras
It has been long since Apple made the jump to 8MP snappers for its iPhone models. And now, as it seems, the same trend is catching up for Apple-made iPads. While the primary snapper on the iPad Air 2, which includes a new burst photo shooting mode, has made a jump to 8MP from 5MP, the iPad mini 3 still continues to offer a 5MP snapper. The front-facing cameras on both the models, however, remain the same at 1.2MP.
Apple iPad Air 2 Vs iPad mini 3: Battery Support
It seems only normal that since there's no real upward movement in terms of screen size on the tablets, there's no need to make any kind of improvisations in terms of power management. Hence, there's we're not seeing a bigger battery in either the iPad Air 2 or the iPad mini 3 when compared to the previous generation. However, for both, Apple has assured that the battery will last at least 10 hours on a single charge.
Apple iPad Air 2 Vs iPad mini 3: Pricing
As far as tablet pricing is concerned, both the iPad Air 2 and the iPad mini 3 are available online as well as across Apple authorized retail stores. Customers can buy from six models of the iPad Air 2, priced in the range of Rs 35,900 to Rs 59,900. Apple iPad Air 2 Vs iPad mini 3: Which One To Buy
Both these new tablets are already available in the market, hence availability shouldn't be the most pressing issue. However, there is a pressing issue here are it involves which one to buy over the other. Now we cannot entirely dismiss one tablet over the other, but we can say that the iPad Air 2 is a more suitable option for those favoring a bigger screens. That being said, if you are not of the big screen fanatics, the iPad mini 3 should be a more compact option on the go.
