Apple iPad Air Hands on Review: First Impression
Generation after generation, Apple iPad remains to be our favorite tablet device. The next generation of Apple iPad is here and it's utterly fabulous. Initially launched in the US on November 1, the iPad Air just landed in Indian stores last week. It's great to see Apple's growing interest in India.
On the launch day itself, GizBot spent some time with the iPad Air. Without wasting your precious time - let us share our experience with the iPad Air.
The iPad Air is the latest generation tablet coming from the Cupertino based company. The device is lighter than the previous generation, thus making it the lightest tablet in the market. Under the hood, Apple has used an A7-64bit chipset and M7 motion co-processor.
The iOS 7 mobile operating system could have been better but still the experience is not bad. Apple hasn't used the TouchID fingerprint scanner, a must have feature made available in the iPhone 5S. GizBot do believe that the iPad Air is now better in taking images, and the quality of pictures has significantly improved over its predecessor. Let's read the hands on review in detail:
Design
There is no doubt that Apple iPad Air is the best designed tablet available in the market. The iPad Air's biggest highlight - its design makes the device a unique breed when compared to any high-end Android run tablet.
The iPad Air is 28% lighter than the iPad 4 and is 48% narrower design. The iPad Air is so close to Apple's iPad Mini, in terms of design. The tablet measures 7.5mm in terms of thickness, and comes in two color options: Space Grey and White Silver. Made out of aluminum, you can feel the quality yourself. Though the iPad Air is lighter than its predecessor, but when you hold the device next to Apple iPad 2 - it doesn't feel sturdy.
Nevertheless, the iPad Air is undoubtedly the lightest tablet you can buy right now. Moreover, the tablet is apt for reading an e-book or watching a full length movie on the go.
