Asus Fonepad 7 FE170CG Tablet With Dual SIM Support and More Officially Launched
Taiwanese PC and tablet maker Asus also known as the maker of Nexus tablets powered by Google's software, doesn't have much handheld devices in its pocket, if compared to other manufacturers like Lenovo or even the native rival HTC.
However, the company's most talked about handheld device called by the name of Fonepad, which has been catering to the need of the mid-range tablet buyers is pretty much running the entire business for the company. Asus already has a several variants of Fonepad in the market.

Recently the company has again announced its yet another Fonepad tablet in Thailand. It was first spotted a coupled of weeks back but then the specs were missing. Today the company has listed the device on its official website. The latest Fonepad 7 (FE170CG), which comes in Black, White, Red and Blue colors have already been selling in Thailand for 4190 Thai Bahts. If the price is to be translated to Indian currency, it would roughly be Rs. 7,670, which is a very competitive price. However, the company has not spoken about the global roll out of the tablet.

Talking about the specs of the Fonepad 7 (FE170CG), it features a 7-inch (1024 x 600 pixels) display with Anti-Fingerprint Coating.
It is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core Intel Atom Z2520 processor and PowerVR SGX544 GPU coupled with 1GB of RAM. It runs on Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean) with the layer of company's proprietary ZenUI on top.
The tablet also houses a 2MP rear camera with a capability of shooting video at 720p. Also add a 0.3MP front-facing camera.
The latest Fonepad is offered in 4GB / 8GB internal memory and can be further expanded via microSD.
The device features all necessary connectivity options like 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, GLONASS, AGPS and GPS. Moreover, the company has also managed to stuff a dual SIM slot in the latest Fonepad.
The tablet which measures 10.7 mm thick and weighs 290 grams comes powered by a massive 3950 mAh battery. According to the company, the battery offers a standby time of 619 hours (3G) and talktime of 30 hours (3G).
The tablet is pretty competitive and the price is also pretty amazing. The device is perfectly suitable for the Indian market. Sadly, the maker of PadFone has not revealed whether it will release the tablet in India or not.
