|

After Acer, it seems like Asus is running after the sub Rs 10,000 segment of the tablet market in India. It can be said as the Taiwanese tech firm has launched MeMO Pad 172V with Jelly Bean OS in India at Rs 9,999. It was only in the last month when Acer rolled out Iconia B1 in the nation at Rs 7,999.

Recently, a report from Cyber Media Research claimed that Indians prefer buying 7 inch Android tablets that are priced in the sub Rs 10,000 price range. According to the report, almost 91% of the tablets sold in Q4 2012 were running on Android operating system and 78% of them were 7 inch ones.

Seeing the success of the small sized tablets, even Apple, the global tablet market dominator stepped into this segment with the iPad Mini to monetize profits from the trending category.

Going on the same lines, Acer and Asus - two well known names in the global tablet space have also entered the Indian territory. The other well known global tablet manufacturer - Samsung, who was known in India for its Galaxy Tab 2 310 - the voice calling tablet has come up with Galaxy Tab 2 311 - the Wi-Fi only tablet at Rs 13,999.

With the entry of Asus in the sub Rs 10,000 price range, it can be said that the tablets offered by the other companies will have to be scared of MeMO Pad 172V. Hence, Gizbot has come up with the list of tablets that are in the danger zone with the Asus tablet's entry into the Indian premises.
