Asus Set For Launch in India on May 22 to Knock Off Apple iMacs
Asus has gained a considerable market share as far as tablets are concerned. The device makers who equally pay attention to Windows 8 powered machines besides being a respected player in the Android space has planned an event in India.
The purpose to organize an event is to announce the availability of Transformers AIO, an all-in-one PC by nature, is set to launch on May 22 in Mumbai. The device flaunts a unique design: a hybrid tablet and desktop with separate processors.
The Transformers AIO was announced back in CES early this year. The machines actually support Windows 8, and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. It can be transformed into a desktop PC with keyboard and mouse. The tablet part packs an 18.4-inch display with resolution of 1920 X 1800 pixels, 2GB of RAM, Nvidia Tegra 3 processor, and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. The tablet weighs 2.5 kgs, by means; you can compare it with an iPad.
The Transformer's base unit comes with an Intel Core i3 processor powered by Nvidia GT 730M graphics, Bluetooth 3.0, 1TB hard drive, up to 8GB of RAM. Overall, it a nice way to experience computing. Surely, the device is being promoted as a niche device in the Indian market. In the US, it costs $1299 (Rs. 71152). GizBot expect the Transformer's AIO to cost Rs. 83,000, in the Indian market.
Competition - Apple iMac 21.5-inch ?
Whenever a tech vendor other than Apple announces a desktop computer in the market; it is mandatory to compare it with Apple iMac. Apple made iMac 21.5-inch is the most affordable desktop computer sold by Cupertino-based tech giant.
The desktop PC houses Intel Core i5 processor( 2.5-Ghz/Quad-Core), 4GB of RAM, a 21.5-inch IPS display with resolution of 1,920 X 1080 pixels, 1TB of hard drive , NVIDIA GeForce GT 640M graphics processor , a front facing face time camera, Two Thunderbolt ports, Four USB 3 ports, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, OSX Mountain Lion OS among other features. Asking price - Rs. 75,100 (via Snapdeal).
