Byond Phablet PII Launched at Rs 14999 With Jelly Bean OS: How Is It Better Than Phablet PIII?

Pune based tech manufacturer Byond Tech recently launched their new duel-SIM Phablet PII at Rs14,999. Last month, Byond came up with a phablet PIII and so soon, it has launched its successor. Phablet PII based on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS similar features as its predecessor - Phablet PIII.

 

Below is a brief comparison to explain the difference between the two Byond phablet offerings.

Display: Phablet PII comes with a 5.7-inch multi-touch HD IPS (1280x720 pixels ) capacitive 5-point multi-touch display, where as the Phablet PIII comes with a 6-inch (854 x 480 pixels ) capacitive 5-point multi-touch display.

Operating System: Both the phablets run on Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean operating system.

Processor: Both Phablet PII and Phablet PIII come with a 1GHz dual-core processor.

Camera: Both Phablet PII and Phablet PIII feature an 8-megapixel rear camera and a front facing camera for video calling.

Storage: Phablet PII comes with 4GB of internal storage, microSD slot expandable up to 32GB and 1GB RAM. The Phablet PIII also comes with 4GB of internal storage, microSD slot expandable up to 32GB, but has a 512 MB RAM.

Connectivity: Both devices support Wi-Fi, 3G, GPS, Bluetooth and Dual-SIM.

Battery: Both devices pack a 2,500 mAh battery of undisclosed backup.

Price and Availability: Byond Phablet PIII is priced at Rs 12699 and Phablet PII is priced at Rs 14,999. Several media reports claim that the phablet will be made available on online retailer Flipkart, however, there is no such listing made so far.

Verdict

Both Phablet PIII and Phablet PII comes with almost similar specifications as mentioned above. Moreover, based on Android 4.1 JellyBean OS, both will be loaded with software features including Project Butter, improved Google Now, live wallpapers and more.

If the concern is on a relatively larger display real estate and a low priced phablet - PIII could be a right choice.

However, if the concern is on the usability and improved RAM capacity for non-sluggish performance, Phablet PII might be a good one.
