Tablet manufacturers in India have been flooding the low-end price category with dozens of devices. Now, Domo, an emerging domestic mobile maker has launched yet another tablet, the Slate X14 at Rs. 4,990. This could possibly be one of the cheapest 7 inch tablets in the market. Moreover, the same device is selling at Rs. 3,990 at Infibeam. However, it is likely to competiton from devices like Lava E-Tab Velo Plus, Mercury mTAB Star, HCL ME U3 and newly launched tablets from Zebronics.

Here is a brief rundown on the specs of the latest Domo Slate X14:

Domo Slate X14 comes packed with a 7 inch LCD Backlit Glossy Widescreen Display, with a 5 Point Multitouch Capacitive Touch Screen display. It offers a resolution of 800 x 480 Pixels. It runs on Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2 OS. Further, it is powered with 1GHZ cortex A8 processor coupled with 512MB RAM and also comes supported by a powerful Mali 400 graphics processor unit.

One can find a 2 Megapixel Front Camera but lacks the rear camera. The device comes with a several connectivity options like Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, supports External 3G dongles, Micro USB Port.

When it comes to storage, it houses an internal storage capacity of 4GB which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD card. The newly launched tablet also supports Adobe Flash directly in browser. It comes with an inbuilt Speakers, Earpiece and Microphone and can play HD videos up to 1080p.

The device is powered by a 3000 mAh polymer battery which offers up to 3-5 hours of surfing time.

Domo Slate X14 is surely going to directly compete with other budget friendly tablets. Since, low end tablet market in India is lush with more wholesome devices, the X14's disadvantages, which include not having a rear camera, and the lack of voice calling facility, will most probably make make it less appealing.

The device also runs on Android 4.2 and is supported by 512 MB RAM and 4 GB internal storage capacity which can me further extended up to 32 GB via microSD card. The tablet supports 3G via external dongle and other connectivity features include WiFi, microUSB and 3.5 mm audio jack. Lava E-Tab Velo+ comes with a front facing VGA camera but lacks a rear camera. The battery capacity is also moderate at 2500 mAh.

HCL ME U3 comes packed with a 7 inch multi-touch capacitive screen display which also offers a WVGA resolution of 800 x 480pixels. It can playback Full HD 1080p videos as well. It is powered by a 1GHz ARM Cortex A9 Processor and Mali-400 GPU I 3D Graphics supported by 512MB DDR3 RAM. The device runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). HCL ME U3 comes with a 2MP rear camera and 0.3 front facing camera for video chats. Connectivity section is pretty regular like Wi-Fi, Micro USB 2.0 port, 3G enabled USB Data Card support etc. For storage, the tablet has 4GB internal memory that can be expanded up to 32 GB via Micro SD card. Eventually, HCL ME U3 is powered by a 3100mAh Li-Polymer Battery. It is priced at Rs. 5,449.

mTAB Star comes packed with a 7 inch multi touch screen display offering a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixel. It is powered by MediaTek chipset and 1 GHz Cortex A9 Dual core processor coupled with a 512MB RAM. Moreover, the tablet runs on the Android 4.1 operating system. mTAB Star tablet also houses a 4GB internal storage capacity which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD card. One can also find a SGX531 3D engine incorporated in the system and also supports Flash 11. The tablet also comes with a dual camera- 2MP rear camera with LED flash and 0.3MP (VGA) front-facing camera. In the connectivity front, the tablet comes with a Wi-Fi, 3G SIM, v2.1 Bluetooth and HDMI output. The tablet is powered by a 3000mAh battery. Sadly, there is no details on the price of the device as of now.

In the connectivity front Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n is a standard, USB dongle capability to link up high-speed 3G networks is an added advantage. The tablet also comes with 8GB built-in memory that is expandable up to 32GB through a micro SD slot. The tablet comes powered by a 3200 mAH battery and is priced at Rs. Rs. 5,499.

It is powered by ARM Cortex A8 1 GHz Processor coupled with 512 MB DDR3 RAM. It houses an internal storage capacity of 4GB which can be expanded up to 32 GB via microSD card. It comes with 0.3 MP rear camera. In connectivity front, it supports, HDMI, USB, Wi-Fi and 3G Enabled and is powered by a 3000 mAh Lithium - Polymer battery.

Apart from the price, there are hardly any differences in the specs of all the 6 tablets. However, all fall in the same price category. Most of the devices have almost exact specs but few come with better camera and battery. Mercury mTAB Star and HCL ME U3 could be a fair choice as they both come with a similar specs that are higher compared to others. However, one might either choose to compromise the screen resolution of Mercury mTAB Star for extra battery back up of HCL ME U3 or vice versa.
