Exclusive: Asus MeMo Pad 7 Coming to India on February 27 Below Rs 10000 Price Tag

While Acer is creating waves in the Indian low cost tablet market with the recent launch of Iconia B1 at budget price points, it seems like its standing rival Asus is also set to take on the competition in the enthralling 7 inch Android Jelly bean tablet market.

 

This can be said, as recently Gizbot has got an exclusive information from the folks at Asus, that the company is going to debut its latest budget tablet MeMo Pad 7 in India on February 27. Consequently, GizBot has also received an invitate from Asus to attend the launch of the Asus MeMo Pad 7, same day in a New Delhi event.

Asus MeMo Pad 7 Coming to India on February 27 Below Rs 10000 Price

The company's spokesperson also revealed that, when release on the market retail shelves MeMo Pad 7 will hold an affordable price tag below Rs 10,000, however, the spokesperson refused to share the exact price point.

But definitely observing the specs, it looks like, this 7-inch slab was born to rule in Indian market. The Taiwanese giant announced the budget tablet early this year at CES 2013. The device comes with a 7-inch LED display with resolution of 1024 X 600 pixels, 1GB of RAM, 1 GHz single core processor, Wi-Fi, 8GB/16GB internal storage, No rear camera provided, 1-mega pixel front facing camera for long video chat, and 4270mAh battery. Internationally, the MeMo Pad 7 costs $149 (Rs. 8,056) and stands as a direct rival to Google Nexus 7. In India, the MeMo Pad 7 will have to face tough competition from the Asus Iconia B1 which retails for Rs.7, 999.

Meanwhile, there is no information whether Asus will also launch MeMo Pad Smart 10 in the market alongside confirmed 7-inch slab.
