Good news for Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 310 owners out there in India! The South Korean tech giant has started rolling out the official update for the voice calling tablet.
Yes! Galaxy Tab 2 310 has received the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean upgrade in India. The upgrade can be installed via Samsung Kies currently and the OTA release will come in a few days. The new update adds in many features to the tablet that are already available in the smartphones and phablets of Samsung.
The update adds some software features such as Smart Stay, which is an eye-tracking feature that automatically turns off the display by tracking the user's eye movements using the front camera of the device. Also, Group Play, a feature found in Galaxy S4 has been added to the tablet. This feature lets users to transfer and view or play multimedia content including photos, videos, documents and more with other users with a tap.
Talking about specifications, Galaxy Tab 2 has a 7 inch PLS capacitive display with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixel resolution, 1GHz dual core processor, 3MP rear camera, 0.3MP VGA front camera, 1GB RAM, 8GB/16GB internal memory, micro SD card for expandable memory up to 32GB, Wi-Fi, 3G, Bluetoooth, micro USB 2.0 and a 4,000 mAh Li-ion battery with 20 hours talk time and 800 hours standby.
Furthermore, it has be noted that there are rumors going on all over the web claiming that Galaxy Tab 2 lineup of tablets will receive only till Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and will not support Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie.
Alongside Galaxy Tab 2 310, Galaxy Chat has also received the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean upgrade, but as of now, it is only available in Spain, claims a SamMobile report. The OTA upgrade will reportedly boost the performance and battery life of the smartphone.
