When Eric Schmidt paid a visit to India, the most obvious question that was put to him was - "When Google plans to launch Nexus range in India?" Now the answer is in front of you, as Google has finally announced Nexus 7 for Indian consumers.

The device which is currently being sold via Google Play Store will cost you Rs. 15,999. The 16GB version of the Nexus 7 is the most blessed 7-inch tablet in the world, even Tim Cook is bit scared with the unimaginable success of the fabled device. It was reported few days ago that Google was indeed planning to announce Nexus range here in India.

The Asus manufactured tablet was announced at Google I/O 2012, and finally went live on July, 2012 around the world. Due to its price at just $199, it topped the international tablet market. The effect was so strong that Apple went ahead with the launch of iPad Mini in the same year. When it comes to India, Google was not confident at all, just like Apple, thus the Nexus range was out of reach for millions of eager techies.

Now the situation is rather different, as internet population is growing at a phenomenal rate, and on the top of it tablets have made their place in roads. It is safe to say that in the coming days, Google will definitely announce Nexus 4 and Nexus 10 in the Indian market. As per Google Play Store (India), the device still runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Officially Google has updated Nexus 7 to Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.

Apple sells iPad Mini in India at a price of Rs.21, 900. The device comes with a 7.9-inch IPS LED display with a resolution of 1024 X 768 display , 512MB of RAM, 16GB/32/64GB of internal memory,A5 chipset, a 5-mega pixel rear camera and 1.2-mega pixel front facing camera, Bluetooth 4.0 and Dual Core 1Ghz Cortex-A9 processor and lastly long battery life.

When queried from a premium Imagine store in Bangalore which sells, Apple products in India. It was informed that the device was doing a considerable sales over there, everyday more than 3-4 units are being sold, where the count increases to 7-8 during weekends. Hence, now with Nexus 7 coming in, the sales of Apple iPad Mini definitely seems to be in a danger, owning to head to head specs rivalry and former holding a cheap price tag.

On the other side of the hedge, Samsung announces Galaxy Note 510 in India last month. Though, the vendor didn't announce the pricing as well as availability, but the device is coming soon. The device could sell in India at around Rs. 22,000 (16GB).
