iBall Edu Slide Tablet Launched With Android 4.1 Jelly Bean: Specs, Price, Competition and More

iBall, an India based tech firm has announced the launch of Edu-Slide, a Jelly Bean based tablet in India. Edu-Slide carries the credit of being the first Jelly Bean smartphone launched by iBall and is priced at Rs 12,999. These days, the India based tech manufacturer is well known for its Jelly Bean based smartphone - Andi 4.5Q launched in January.

 

According to the company's press release, iBall Edu-Slide powered by eTeach has been designed with an aim to position on school children studying from standard 1st to 12th for both CBSC and SSC. eTeach curriculum is based on the one provided by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT). Key Specifications

Display: Edu-Slide features a 10.1 inch multi-touch IPS capacitive touchscreen display with a HD resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels offering clear viewing angles.

Processor: The tablet is powered by a 1.5GHz dual core Cortex A9 processor and Mali G400 GPU for superior graphic performance for games and other complex applications.

Operating System: Edu-Slide runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS and hence, it will come with features such as Project Butter, improved Google Now, live wallpaper support, high resolution contact photos and more.

Camera: Similar to other budget tablet offerings, Edu-Slidecomes with a 2MP rear camera and a 0.3MP front camera for video calling.

Storage: Edu-Slide packs 8GB internal storage, 1GB RAM and a micro SD card slot supporting up to 32GB additional storage.

Connectivity: The tablet comes with connectivity features including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and micro USB.

Price & Availability

iBall has priced Edu-Slide at Rs 12,999. As an introductory offer, the company offers free content included in the tablet, however, this offer will be valid only till April 15, 2013.

By launching a Jelly Bean tablet with educations content, iBall can has entered a direct rivalry with those devices that are available in the nation including Micromax Funbook P362, HCL My Edu tablet and more.
