Like many others in line, Toshiba is also taking full advantage of the year biggest annual tech event. And with the company present at this year's IFA 2014 event, it has already unveiled its new Chromebook 2 and the Satellite Radius 11 Windows convertible.
The IFA 2014 is already up and running with several big name device makers already in the mix. Like Lenovo before it, Toshiba has now entered the event by revealing the new slimmed-down Chromebook 2 and the Satellite Radius 11, a small-screened Windows convertible.
Taking a look at the first one in line for the time being, the new Chromebook 2 from Toshiba offers a combination of full HD display with stereo speakers tuned by Skullcandy. It's a thin, light and travel friendly Chromebook that comes with a 13.3-inch IPS display.
The new Chromebook is powered by Intel Celeron processor with Intel integrated graphics in support. The Chromebook 2 offers 16 GB eMMC plus 100 GB free Cloud storage via Google Drive2. Also, 4 GB of DDR3L (1600 MHz) RAM is available for the Full HD model, while 2 GB DDR3L (1600MHz) for the HD model.
As expected, it runs on the Chrome OS with battery life up to 11.5 hours for the HD model, and up to 9 hours for the Full HD model. It weighs in at 1.35kg with dimensions of 320 x 214 x 19.3 mm. Connectivity includes 1x HDMI-out, 1x USB 2.0, 1x USB 3.0 (including Sleep-and-Charge), SD/SDHC slot, headphone/mic combo jack and security lock.
