While the buzz from the iPhone 5S and 5C launch is still in the air, leaked images of the upcoming iPads have started floating around the Internet thanks to leaker SonyDickson.

In the pictures, you'll find alleged images of Apple's full sized iPad 5 and the refreshed iPad Mini (could be named as iPad Mini2). Both slates use the same design scheme and Apple has made them as identical as possible. Yes, there will be some differences, mainly the size as the slates bear different screen sizes - the iPad 5 at 9.7-inch and the iPad Mini 2 at 7.9-inch. But as the images suggest, the design of bigger tablet now mimics that of the Mini 2.

The design refreshes come after Apple was compelled to provide radical revisions for the fifth edition of its iPad so as to keep consumers interested and even excited. A slimmer iPad 5 will be required to ensure that the full-sized device is not cannibalized by its smaller sibling in the upcoming holiday season. Why? Because consumers prefer, smaller, slimmer and sleeker devices when it comes to tablets, thereby giving the iPad Mini an advantage over the iPad 5.

There is no way to confirm that these images are genuine. But given SonyDickson's reputation with his ultra accurate iPhone 5S and 5C leaks, these images are most probably accurate. Unconfirmed reports indicate that the two iPads will be launched sometime in Q4 during a special announcement. As more and more competitors enter the tablet race with more powerful hardware and smaller price tags, Apple must ready itself for a bloody holiday season.
