Karbonn Smart Tab 7 Tornado Spotted on Saholic for Rs 5,499: Will You Buy Android ICS Tablet?

Back in October, Karbonn Mobiles unleashed two tablets - Smart Tab 3 Blade and Smart Tab 9 Marvel at Rs 5,990 and Rs 7,990 respectively. In just a couple of months, Karbonn has now come up with another 7 inch tablet dubbed Smart Tab 7 Tornado.

While Karbonn is yet to officially announce the launch of the device, Saholic, an online retailer site has listed the tablet on its site for Rs 5,499.

According to the listing, Smart Tab 7 has the below mentioned specifications.

Specs

Display: Smart Tab 7 Tornado sports a 7 inch TFT LCD capacitive touchscreen display with 800 x 480 pixel resolution.

Processor & Storage: The tablets packs a 1.2GHz single core processor and a micro SD card slot for additional storage support up to 32GB. However, there is no information regarding the internal memory capacity and RAM of the device.

Operating System: Likewise the other budget tablets available out there, Smart Tab 7 Tornado also comes flavored with Android 4.0 ICS operating system.

Camera: Being a budget tablet, Smart Tab 7 Tornado has a 2MP front camera for video calling and lacks a rear camera of higher resolution.

Connectivity: In terms of data connectivity, the device supports built-in Wi-Fi, USB port and external 3G support.

Battery: The tablet is loaded with a 3,700 mAh battery delivering 8 hours video playback, 7 hours Wi-Fi browsing and 25 hours music playback.

Substitute to Micromax Funbook Infinity?

Karbonn seems to be on a spree of launching budget tablets as it is aiming to attain the position of leading tablet vendor in the country. However, Micromax surpassing Samsung and Apple in the tablet segment in India with a significant market share of 18% in Q2 is currently the prominent tablet manufacturer.

Micromax has launched several tablets in the Funbook lineup of which, Funbook Infinity is a recent one priced at Rs 5,999.

As far as specs are concerned, Infinity comes with a 7 inch capacitive touchscreen display with 800 x 480 pixel resolution, 1.2GHz Cortex A8 processor, Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich OS, 2MP rear camera, 0.3MP front facing camera for video calling, 4GB internal storage, 512MB RAM, micro SD card for expandable memory support up to 32GB, Wi-Fi, 3G through dongle and a 4,000 mAh battery.

Analyzing the specs and price of Funbook Infinity, the tablet has a slightly increased price tag as compared to Karbonn Smart Tab 7 Tornado, but it comes with a better processor and a rear camera. At the same time, the Karbonn offering has an improved front camera for video calling.
