Karbonn Smart Tab 8 Velox: Android 4.1 Jelly Bean Tablet Spotted Online, Launching in January 2013

In an effort to win the Android tablet market race, Indian tech manufacturers have now started to introduce more and more tablets with unique features to take the competition to next level. One of them, who seems to be in an aggressive launch mode is Karbonn.

This can be said as it was just last week when the manufacturer was in the news for its 10-inch Karbonn Smart Tab 10 Cosmic launch enthrusted with Google's latest OS Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Now, Karbonn is in the spotlight again, as just this morning a new tablet has been spotted at an online retailer's site, dubbed by the name of Karbonn Smart Tab 8 Velox.

Reportedly, the tablet was first spotted by the folks at mobigyaan on eBay.in at a price of Rs 6,799. Moving forward, Gizbot received information from another famous online retailer Saholic, confirming the features of Karbonn Smart Tab 8 Velox, which is originally priced by the company at Rs 7,999.

Relatively, Gizbot contacted the company spokesperson, who further revealed that "Karbonn Smart Tab 8 Velox is the new tablet by the company under its Duple Series." He further informed that, "while the tablet is already available on online retailer sites for consumer purchase, however the company will officially announce the tablet in the first week of January 2013."

As far as other specifications of the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS based Karbonn Smart Tab 8 Velox is concerned, it will land in the market with features including 8-inch capacitive display along with display resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels. The tablet will come powered by 1.5 GHz dual-core Cortex A9 processor accompanied with 1 GB RAM, 1.51 GB Internal memory with memory expandable up to 32 GB.

Smart Tab 8 Velox will also house a 3 MP rear camera, VGA front facing camera with the likes of G-Sensor, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, HDMI, USB port support, 3G data connectivity and a powerful 4500 mAh battery delivering 7 hours of internet surfing time, 8 hours of video playback time on earphones and about 25 hours of music playback time on earphones.

On the sidelines on conversation, Karbonn spokesperson also informed that "the company will officially release its recently announced Karbonn A30 Ta Fone smartphone in the Indian market on December 28," to allure the consumers this New Year. An Android ICS based device with a massive 5.9 inch display and dual SIM support.

Karbonn A30 is still awaiting its official release into the market and is available for purchase at online retailer Saholic.com, which has listed the device with a price tag of Rs 10,990.
