Micromax Canvas Tab P650 Launched at Rs 16,500: Top 5 8 Inch Tablet Rivals
Micromax has been soaring in the Indian smartphone market as one of the top sellers and has been putting up a great show against devices from Samsung and other domestic manufacturers. Now the maker of Canvas has launched the 8 inch tablet with voice calling facility called Canvas Tab P650 at Rs. 16,500 which is directly targeted against Samsung's recently launched Galaxy Tab 3 (311). Moreover, even sales of iPad Mini could be affected by this newbie from Micromax. The company already has a handful of tablets but this one is by far the best one that has come from the company with quad core processor and Android Jelly Bean 4.2 incorporated in it. It is available in 2 color variant: White and Blue.
Lets have a look at the specs of the device:
Micromax Canvas Tab P650 comes with an 8-inch multi-touch IPS display offering a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels and features an aluminum body. It is powered by a potential MediaTek MT8389 quad core processor clocked to 1.2GHz coupled with 1GB DDR3 RAM. The device runs on Android 4.2.1 (Jelly Bean) OS. The OS is upgradable via FOTA (Firmware Over The Air). The device houses 16GB internal storage capacity and also supports microSD card slot that supports up to 32GB of expansion.
Moving on to camera, Micromax Canvas Tab P650is loaded with a 5MP rear camera with 720p HD video recording and the front facing camera comes with 2MP shooter. The tablet draws the power from a massive 4,800mAh battery that is said to offer five hours of browsing time on 3G.
The tablet comes pre-loaded with apps like Spuul, Opera Mini, M! Live, Music Hub and M! Security.
When one has to talk about features, the tablet comes loaded with Opera mini browser, Spuul to watch free movies online, Music Hub to get access to songs online and M! Live to download HD/premium games. The M! Security app lets you Back-Up the phone. It also comes with Look away to pause, Video pinning, pop-up browser and OTA update support similar to the latest Canvas smartphones.
After having a look at the specs of the newly launched Micromax tablet, it will compete with many tables in the market but among those the most prominent rivals would be recently launched Xolo QC800 Tablet, Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 T311, Karbonn Smart Tab 8, BSNL Penta T-Pad WS802C DC Tablet and Byond Mi-book Mi8. However, since Micromax Canvas tablet is loaded with quad core processor it beats most of these tablets easily.
