Google has time and again, showered the best of the Nexus devices to the world so far and yet again they have proved their efficiency as a software baron with the latest Nexus 7 which comes with the super clear display and the most awaited Android Jelly bean version 4.3. Moreover, Google is also rumored to come with the Nexus 10 in collaboration with Samsung later this year.

Given, the state of the tablet market throughout the world, the most reputed can be taken to be as iPad but not to ignore the fact, Nexus tablets does have some important markets already in its clutch. The new Nexus 7 was however a mind confusing device for tablet lovers. The confusion was whether to go with iPad Mini or the New Nexus 7? in fact it is a tough decision for ones who are in verge of buying either one.

The buyer is not only concerned about the specs of the handset but also the external benefits like the richness of playstore, whether the device is upgradeable or not, the price factor and many more. The most important of all, however is the price and specs of the device. Moreover, the competition on the tablet front is getting more severe and it is, in simple words, getting more and more cut throat.

Recently, the Indian tablet market has seen the entry of the massive three third generation Android tablets from Samsung. On the other hand Asus also outed their upgraded FonePad just a day ago. These tablets in fact fall in between Rs. 17,000 to Rs. 25,000. Even iPad Mini falls in the same range.

Similarly, Nexus 7 prices is said to start at $229 (approx. Rs. 13,538) and top out at $349 (approx. Rs. 20,633) in the US market. Thus it is clear that there is an ample room for hardcore rivalry. The 2nd Generation Nexus 7 is coming soon in India as it has already landed in some of the stores in US.

However, the new Nexus 7 will face a direct threat from latest tablets present in India viz. Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7 inch, Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8 Inch cellular variant, iPad Mini, Upgraded Asus Fonepad and the older variant of Nexus 7 as well.

The slimmer, second-generation Nexus 7 by Taiwan-based Asus comes with a 7-inch IPS display offering a high resolution of 1,920 x 1,200 pixels and pixel density of 323 PPI while Apple's iPad mini comes with a digger display measuring 7.9 inch LCD Assistive Touchscreen with lesser 1024 x 768 pixels resolution and 162 ppi pixel density. In fact, older Nexus 7 had a better resolution and pixel density than iPad mini measuring 1,280 x 800 and pixel density of 216 PPI.

The new Nexus 7 comes packed with the latest version of Android Operating System 4.3. The tablet is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor clocked to 1.5GHz. The new tablet also features Adreno 320 graphics and is also supported by 2GB RAM for smooth functioning.
While on the other hand, iPad Mini runs on older version of iOS 6 which is upgradable to iOS 6.1.3. The iPad mini is powered by a dual-core 1 GHz Cortex-A9 with PowerVR SGX543MP2 graphics and 512 MB RAM.
Looking at the guts of both the tablets, it seems like iPad mini has a way lesser powerful internals.

New Nexus 7 comes with a 5 MP camera fitted at the rear side while 1.2 MP camera lies on the front face of the tablet. This is one of the best things that happened to Nexus tablet because there was no rear camera on the older nexus. However, iPad comes with a similar 5 MP autofocus rear camera and 1.2 MP front facing camera.

Connectivity features in the new Nexus 7 includes cellular, WiFi, 3G, LTE, Bluetooth, NFC, Wireless charging, GPS, GLONASS, MicroUSB and also HDMI output. On the other hand the iPad mini WiFi variant comes with WiFi, Bluetooth and USB. Both iPad mini and New Nexus 7 comes with a cellular support. while there is a WiFi only model for iPad mini as well.

There are two variant of the tablet, one with 16GB and other with 32 GB internal storage capacity. Apple's iPad mini come in a similar variant.
