Panasonic Toughpad FZ-G1, JT-B1: 10 inch Windows 8 Pro, 7 inch Android Tablet Launched in India

Panasonic has launched two new tablets as part of it's Toughpad range in India. Dubbed as Toughpad FZ-G1, a 10 inch tablet and Toughpad JT B1, a 7 inch Android powered unit run on Windows 8 pro and Android, respectively. These tablets are designed to withstand harsh environmental conditions as they are waterproof, dustproof and also shockproof. Both devices follow the original 10 inch Android-powered Toughpad FZ-A1 which became broadly available late last year.

Toughpad FZ-G1 -- Key Specs

 

Toughpad FZ-G1 tablet which runs on Windows 8 sports a 10.1 Full HD 1920x1200 p (10-finger multitouch) display with an active digitizer, 3rd Generation 2.9 Ghz Core i5 processor. The tablet comes with 128 or 256GB SSD storage options and 4/8GB of RAM, Intel HD Graphics 4000 UMA, connectivity features including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Optional 3G. There is no info on the battery capacity of the tablet. The device is targeted towards enterprise customers and is priced at Rs. 1,79,000. This rugged tablet is said to be capable of withstanding falls of up to 120cm.

Toughpad JT-B1 tablet which runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich comes with a 7 inch (4-point multi touch) display with a resolution of 1024x600 pixels, 1.5GHz Texas Instruments OMAP4460 processor, 1GB RAM, 16GB flash storage expandable up to 32GB via MicroSD card, connectivity features including Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Optional 3G and NFC, 5720 mAh battery. The tablet is said to be capable of withstanding falls of up to 150cm and is priced at Rs. 69,000.
