Samsung Galaxy Tab S Tipped To Arrive in Two Screen Sizes With 2560 x 1600 AMOLED Display
Samsung has quickly become one of the hottest tablet makers around, offering high spec products powered by Google's Android OS. In comparison to Apple, Samsung usually makes low-end tablets, as the demand for such devices is huge in the emerging countries, such as India, China and Russia.
Rising adoption of tablet devices means more consumers have started to consume these lifestyle dominated products.
At the same time, Apple still dominates worldwide tablet market share and continues to be the top ranked tablet maker based on a report from IDC. Facing intense competition from Apple, Samsung is reportedly planning to expand its Galaxy Tablet S lineup with two high-end tablets.
According to Sam Mobile, the new tablets will make their debut as the first-ever slates to feature a WQXGA (2,560 by 1,600) AMOLED display, packed into an 8.4-inch or 10.5-inch slate.
The Galaxy Tab S lineup will also have the first tablet with a fingerprint scanner- it's the same technology found in the Samsung's latest flagship phone- the Galaxy S5. The report further added that much like the Galaxy S5, Samsung's forthcoming tablets will feature fingerprint unlock, PayPal Payments, Private Folder and Samsung Apps login. Another highlighted addition: Multi-user login, which will be unique to the Galaxy Tab S lineup, may add a new functionality.

SamMobile reports that the company had wanted 3G versions, but plans for those have been dropped. Both the 8.4 and 10.5-inch models will have two versions, and LTE model and a Wi-Fi only version.
The Galaxy Tab S lineup will incorporate an Octa-core Exynos 5 (5420) SoC with ARM's big.LITTLE technology; four 1.9GHz Cortex-A15 cores and four 1.3GHz Cortex-A7 cores, 6-core ARM Mali-T628 GPU with a clock speed of 533MHz, 3GB of 32-bit dual-channel 933 MHz LPDDR3e RAM, an 8.0-Megapixel (3264×2448) camera sensor with 1080p Full HD video recording, and a 2.1-Megapixel (1920×1080) front facing camera.
The new lineup will be inspired by the existing Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 series, in respect to design, Sam Mobile notes. The tablets will come in two colors: Shimmer White and Titanium Grey.
There is no word on pricing or a launch date for the Samsung Tab S lineup.
