Xperia Z tablet - iPad 4 Competitor?
As far as the earlier Sony offerings in the tablet segment are concerned, the company has not been a deal breaker. However, considering the beefed up specs the waterproof and dustproof nature aesthetics of Xperia Z tablet, it is evident that latest Sony offering could be a tough challenger for iPad 4, which has been launched with Retina Display.
Detailing on the specifications of iPad 4, the tablet boasts a 9.7 inch LED-backlit Multi-Touch display with IPS technology with 2048 x 1536 pixel resolution with the Retina Display technology, Apple A6X processor, iOS 6 operating system, 5MP iSight rear camera, 1.2MP FaceTime HD camera for video calling, 16GB/32GB/64GB internal storage, 512MB RAM, Lightning port, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth and a 42.5 Whr Li-ion battery offering about 10 hours of backup.
As far as the Indian market is concerned, iPad 4 is priced at Rs 31,900 and Rs 39,900 for 16GB Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi+Cellular, Rs 37,900 and Rs 45,900 for 32GB Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi+Cellular and Rs 43,900 and Rs 51,900 for 64GB Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi+Cellular models respectively.
If Sony decides to launch the tablet in India at a significantly lesser price than the iPad 4, Xperia Z tablet will definitely be a competitor to the fourth generation Apple tablet as it comes with a better display with Full HD resolution, faster quad core processor, better camera performance and NFC connectivity.
