Velocity Tab definately boasts a premium look and feel. Measuring a weight of 330 grams the all sliver back case budget tablet along with black screen bezel, is no way any less than Apple iPads, when it comes to appearance. Further, to top it all the back of the tablet is claimed by the company to be scratch resistant.
Further, Velocity Tab packs an 8 inch capacitive IPS 5 point multi-touch display with 1024 x 768 pixel resolution and decent touch response. Even at the time of testing, the touchscreen rendered fair enough touch, linearity target and motion events.
Speaking of controls on the tablet, the right spine houses the power button, charging port, headphone port, micro USB port, HDMI port and micro SD card slot. Additionally, at the top right of the back panel, there is a volume rocker, which is easy to control while using the device.
Interface and Processor Capabilities
Velocity Tab is based on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS and a dual core Cortex A9 processor. The tablet worked pretty smoothly, apart from some occasional crash of the OS skin. The reason being, the processor is not up to the mark, rendering the touchscreen with slow responsiveness accompanied with tablet heating issue frequently.
Furthermore, the Swipe offering comes with 8GB internal storage, 1GB RAM and a micro SD card slot supporting up to 32GB expandable memory support. 8GB internal storage capacity is almost twice than its competitors in the segment.
Connectivity and Apps
Detailing on data connectivity, Velocity Tab is packed with features including Wi-Fi and 3G through Dongle, however, it lacks Bluetooth as it is a budget tablet.
Also, the presence of HDMI port allows the consumers to connect the device to external high definition monitors and projectors in order to watch movies, photos or any multimedia content on larger displays.
Further, with the micro USB 2.0 port, users can connect devices like keyboard, mouse, external storage devices and more to the tablet.
Media
In Velocity Tab, the stock video player supports various media formats and is capable of playing high definition videos without any stutter. At the same time, browsing is fun with fast text rendering. On the whole, the overall experience of playing games, downloading apps, listening to music and watching YouTube videos is pretty smooth.
Camera
Well, this is a key feature in the tablet , as Velocity Tab has a 2MP rear camera and 1.3MP front camera for video calling. The camera interface is pretty good with a nice zooming control with which users can simply glide through the control to zoom in and zoom out. Moreover, the camera is equipped with controls including scene mode, white balance and more.
Battery
Velocity Tab is powered by a 4,500 mAh battery capable of offering over 10 hours of backup. In the box, the tablet is accompanied with a power adapter, USB cable, earphones and a warranty card.
