The iPad from Apple celebrated its 5th birthday on 3rd of April. The company has come a long way since its first iPad launch back in the year 2010 three years post the launch of the 1st iPhone.

The first iPad was presented by Apple back in the year 2010 in a 9.7" format having a resolution of 1024x768 pixels. It used iOS as the platform and were available in both 3g/WiFi versions.

The second iPad from Apple was much thinner & lighter. The model was much more distinct than the previous one and had front and back cameras.

The next avatar of the device brought in the stunning retina display at a resolution of 2048x1536 pixels. Apple's voice-activated assistant that debuted. It was also the first 4G/LTE compatible iPad.

This model didn't have a great amount of tweaks when compared to the earlier version. It just came with a better rear camera, a faster processor and a lighting cable.

The 7.9" version of the tablet allowed Apple to sync with Google Nexus and the Amazon Kindle Fire at that moment.

This device was lighter and thinner than any other showcased before. Apart from all this there was a change in the internal chip and colour of the model.

This was the lightest one in the line offering advanced features like digital fingerprint Touch ID, already present on the latest generation iPhones, and an anti-glare display.

The processor and main camera's specs were also boosted up, so was the RAM as it was now upgraded to 2GB. A golden option was also available.
