Google Nexus 7, the most ambitious 7-inch tablet manufactured by Asus, is ready for a makeover. The fabled tablet device which went on becoming the best seller has changed the direction of so-called tablet market. Remember sub-$200(Rs.11, 000) affordable tablet market. Before the coming of Google Nexus 7 tablet, a device running on the latest version of Android 4.2.2, Apple used to associate with crème tablets. But not anymore as Asus manufactured tablet sold over 6 million units worldwide. Analysts believe that Android powered tablets will outperform iOS centered iPads in the coming months.
Since past months multiple reports suggests that Google could announce all new Nexus 7 at Google I/0 2013. The tablet device will be manufactured by Asus undoubtedly. And many tech pundits believe that the next gen Nexus 7 will hit Google Play store around June this year. It was earlier reported that the sequel to Nexus 7 will arrive with beefed up processor along with Full HD display. As Nexus 7 is a proud member of Nexus family; expect stock Android 5.0 (Key Lime Pie) to be one among must have features included.
Now the fresh rumors suggest that Qualcomm could be the chosen one by Google to supply chips. The original Nexus 7 has Nvidia Tegra 3 Quad core processor. Nvidia, for instance, has already announced Nvidia Tegra 4 processor, and many well renowned tablet brands are committed to the Tegra 4 for future tablets.
As per reports from DigiTimes, supply chain clearly indicate that Qualcomm could power next gen Nexus 7. Well, one has to wait a little longer to see the first look of the Nexus 7. There are many tablets that are competing with Nexus 7. But one name that keeps on making its way on every one's lips is that of Apple iPad. The Cupertino-based tech giant is also making every effort to launch much improved iPad Mini with Retina Display, A6X processor, and iOS 7.
It is to be seen whether these tech vendors succeed in making their offerings on a budget side. If Apple goes for Retina Display led iPad Mini then expect pricing would be way above compared to current gen iPad Mini. Google has changed the sub-$200 tablet category with such honest tablet, but better quality screen itself means more dollars to be spent for the next gen Nexus 7. Stay tuned to GizBot.
