Despite the security issues for which the company is being criticized online off late, Xiaomi has successfully managed to make its way to the top 5 positing in the smartphone business globally. It's become the world's No. 3 smartphone manufacturer after Samsung and Apple.
It's not only the smartphone segment that Xiaomi has been focusing at the moment. Although late, but the Apple of China has already been busy with the manufacturing of the new tablet device. So far, Xiaomi has got a pretty attractive MiPad tablet which is, in terms of power, a heavy monster.
Now, a new tablet has been spotted online that comes from the Chinese company. Apparently, the new tablet might be a low-end affair. Precisely, a new benchmark result has surfaced, and with it a spec list for a yet unreleased Xiaomi device with a 9.2-inch touchscreen.
According to the GFXBech database listing, the new tablet will have a low-resolution 9.2-inch 720p screen has just 160 ppi pixel density panel.
Powering the leaked tablet is a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 SoC with a 1.2 GHz quad-core CPU, an Adreno 306 GPU, and 1GB of RAM. The SoC, RAM and GPU combination is pretty decent and should be the pretty attractive in the low-end market.
Built-in internal storage space is 8GB, of which around 5.8GB will be user accessible.
The benchmark oddly doesn't feature any information about this device's cameras, but it does say it will sport a SIM card slot, so it will have mobile data connectivity integrated. It's also got Bluetooth, GPS, and Wi-Fi.
If this is a real product that's currently in development by Xiaomi, we'll surely find out more about it pretty soon through subsequent leaks.
Xiaomi has not officially spoken about the device at the moment, however, since the company is milking the Asian market, it is pretty much understood that the new slate would be first hitting the same markets before it goes to other regions.
