The Indian tablet market seems to attract a lot of tablets and now Top Notch Infotronix, leading Indian supplier of products and accessories for computers, consumer electronics and communication under the brand ‘Zebronics' has entered into the fast-growing tablets market with the introduction of its Zebpad series of tablets.

The company's first two tablets - Zebpad 7c and the Zebpad 9c comes with the 7 inch and 9 inch display with 800x480 pixels resolution supporting a 5-point, capacitive touch-screen.

The tablet is powered by a Cortex A8 processor dialed to 1GHz and a Mali-400MP 3D GPU for smooth video rendering. The tablets will initially run on Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich OS, but will soon be provided a Jelly Bean update.

Both the models bear a dual-camera with a 2-megapixel rear camera and a VGA front facing shooter. It has an in-built Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and the capability to link up 3G network via external USB dongle, It is powered by 3200 mAH battery (a feature not found in other similarly priced tablets), which gives a long life to the tablet.

The tablet bears a humongous 8GB built-in memory which can be further expanded up to 32GB through the micro SDHC slot.

Reportedly, recent reports from IDC indicate that PC shipments are declining (as shown by figures released for the last two quarters in a row), and this appears to be directly related to the popularity of tablet computers, and a change in consumer and corporate purchasing to favour these devices. Said Pradeep Doshi, Director of Top Notch Infotronix, "We aim to capitalize on this consumer trend with an array of tablet offerings that combine quality hardware and production values with great content and seamless usability for an engaging user experience - all the while retaining focus on our motto ‘exceptional value at a budget price'."

It was also said that Zebronics would shortly add to the Zebpad line of tablets with models that incorporate voice-calling through an in-built sim-card slot and would be powered by dual-core and quad-core processors including other lifestyle features.

Reports suggest that the new Zebpad 7c is liberally priced at Rs. 5,499 including 1-year warranty and will be available right away at Zebronics' e-commerce site. The 9 inch model Zebpad 9c will be in stores by end of May and price will be announced at that time.
