Apple iPad rumours have been flowing in thick in the recent past. And according to the latest report by Digitimes, the Cupertino tech-giant will add a new member to its iPad family. In addition to the current 7.9-inch (iPad Mini), 9.7-inch (iPad Pro and iPad Air), and 12.9-inch (iPad Pro), the company will add a new 10.5-inch iPad Pro model to the lineup, the report claims.
According to the report, Apple is considering a 10.5-inch model to cater the needs of education and enterprise sectors among others since "10-inch and larger tablets have been popular" among these sectors.
Additionally, the report claims that the existing 9.7-inch model is regarded too small whereas the bigger 12.9-inch variant is deemed to be too expensive for procurement.
As per the report, the 10.5-inch Apple iPad will be powered by the A10X processor which also powers its bigger sibling, the 12.9-inch iPad Pro.
Furthermore, the Digitimes report also claims that around 2 million 10.5-inch iPad units will be shipped in the first quarter of 2017 with another 3 to 4 million units being sold by the end of 2017.
Apple is expected to launch a cheaper version of the 9.7-inch iPad to compete with its Android counterparts, the report added.
Lately, Apple iPhone 8 rumours have also been making headlines on the internet. The company is rumoured to launch a new 5.8-inch variant with OLED displays in addition to the existing 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch models.
The Cupertino tech giant is expected to celebrate 10th Anniversary of Apple iPhone next year and apparently the company is planning for something big.
