Samsung has unveiled two tablets under its new Galaxy Tab S2 lineup. The company calls it as ‘the most immersive Samsung tablet to-date.' The new tablets is an improved version of the last-generation Galaxy Tab S tablets.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 and the Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 are considered as the direct opponents in the thinnest tablets like Apple iPad Air 2, Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet and Dell's Venue 8.
Both tablets measure the same 5.6mm thickness, and are crafted with metallic chassis. The Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 features an 8 inch super AMOLED display at 1536x2048 pixels resolution. While, the bigger version, Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 sports a 9.7 inch display with same resolution.
The Tab S2 9.7 and Tab S2 8.0 are powered by an octa-core processor with clocked at 1.9GHz + 1.3GHz and paired with 3GB of RAM. Let's take a closer look at the world's thinnest tablets, that can rival the new Galaxy Tab S2 tablets to face once the market fully heats up.

The iPad Air 2 is 6.1mm thin profile high-end tablet from Apple which is 18 percent thinner than the first iPad Air. It uses a full sized 9.7-inch LED-backlit widescreen multi-touch display with IPS technology that offers a resolution of 2048x1536 pixels of resolution, which translates to 264 ppi.
The iPad Air 2 has the newest A8X chip that Apple says includes 2nd-gen 64-bit architecture and 3 billion transistors for 40 percent faster CPU and 2.5x faster GPU performance.
Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet sports a 10.1 inch display with a resolution of 2560x1600 pixels. It is clocked at 2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 810, 64-bit octa-core and Adreno 430 GPU along with 3GB RAM.
The tablet is undoubtedly a piece of art, but it's also the most comfortable tablet with a gigantic 10.1 inch display. Measuring just 6.1mm thickness and weighing just 392g, the Xperia Z4 Tablet is slightly lighter than Apple's 437g iPad Air 2.
The Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact sports an 8 inch Full HD TRILUMINOS displayat 1920x1080 pixels resolution, with X-Reality and Live Color LED technology. Under the hood it is powered by a 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor, with Adreno 330 GPU and 3GB of RAM. The tablet measures at 6.4mm thick and weighs-in at 270g.
