A few days after the launch of the Samsung's premium Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+ smartphones, a new rumor has surfaced hinting that the South Korean tech giant might be working on a new Windows tablet.
It is not the first time for Samsung to launch a Windows tablet, as its Ativ line based on Windows OS had a few tablets as well. The company however has not refreshed the line-up for a long time now.
Now, a user of the Chinese site Weibo has put up benchmark of an alleged 12-inch Windows 10 Samsung tablet, which could be its take on the highly rumored Microsoft Surface Pro 4 and Apple iPad 12.9-inch tablets. Here is what all specs details and information have been revealed on the benchmark list of this upcoming Samsung Windows 10 tablet.
This unannounced Samsung Windows 10 tablet is expected to feature a 12-inch Super AMOLED display. Though, there is no confirmed information about the resolution of the display, the tablet is likely to have resolution of either 2560×1600 pixels or 3840×2400 pixels.
As for its processor and storage space, the Windows tablet is speculated to be equipped with a 14-nm Intel Core M processor paired with 4GB of RAM. This seems to be the company's premium tablet which might as well get S-Pen support. It is believed to measure in at 6.2mm in thickness and weigh 600 grams.
In comparison, Microsoft has for long been in rumors for prepping to launch the Surface Pro 4 soon, possibly in its alleged massive event in October. This upcoming tablet in the Surface Pro lineup is also expected to have Intel Core M chipset and Windows 10 on-board. Rumors have it that the Surface Pro 4 will come with a resolution similar to the current-generation Surface Pro 3. It is expected to come in 2 sizes - a bigger one with 13-14 inch display, and another smaller one.
The Apple iPad Pro 12.9, on the other hand, is Apple's upcoming high-end tablet that will feature a 12.9-inch display, dwarfing both the iPad Air 2 9.7-inch and the iPad mini 3 7.9-inch. At this size, the iPad Pro will be almost close to the MacBook Air 13-inch model.
As for its design and specs, the iPad Pro is likely to be based on the design of the iPad Air 2 and the iPad mini 3, and flaunt a similarly thin body at 7mm, with narrow bezels. It is believed that the table will have a display of ultra high 2732x2048 pixels resolution, 2GB of RAM, Touch ID, and an optional stylus. It will come with Wi-Fi connectivity and USB 3.0 ports. The tablet will run on Apple's newest operating system iOS 9.
Though, considering that there is no such confirmation and lack of evidence about Samsung's 12-inch tablet, we suggest you take this news with a pinch of salt.
