Airtel Launches Apna Chaupal: Voice Based Value Added Service for Rural India
In a recent step towards awareness campaign, Airtel has diverted it's attention towards the rural and semi urban regions of India. The telecommunications service provider has announced the launch of it's new voice service, Apna Chaupal. The service will allow Airtel mobile subscribers to gain information by calling the toll free number 58080. Aimed basically towards the rural and semi-urban public, the service will provide information on agricultural techniques, current updates on market rates and availability of Government jobs.
Subscribers can also listen to Live Aarti' s, from popular religious places, get access to entertainment services like Hello Tunes, Comedy FM and radio, receive ball-by-ball updates on cricket matches, learn English, seek career counseling and avail on various other value added, services.
According to the company's press release, the voice based service will provide information in the regional language of the customers on key day-to-day activities including agriculture, devotion, job updates, entertainment, education and health.
The service will enable customers to easily access a host of informative services like learning agricultural techniques, receive instant updates on Mandi rates and Government jobs, listen to Live Aarti's from popular religious shrines, access entertainment services like Hello Tunes, Comedy FM and radio, receive ball-by-ball updates on cricket matches, learn English, seek career counselling and much more on their mobile phones with just a simple voice call.
The subscribers will be able to access the service in their regional languages via call. Although, 58080 is a toll free number, subscription charges of various service packs will be informed and charged according to usage.
Commenting on the launch Rohit Gothi, CEO - Delhi/NCR, Bharti Airtel said, "At Airtel, it is our constant endeavour to provide life enriching services to our customers across the country especially in the rural markets. In line with this, we are happy to launch the Apna Chaupal service for our customers who can now easily avail all the relevant value added services from a single portal at 58080 without having to memorize the individual dialling numbers of each of the services."
